The History
Villa Aurelia was built in the early 1900(1939).
It is surrounded by a beautiful ancient well-tended garden and it is located in the heart of Locorotondo, the pearl of the Itria Valley.
The well-known tailor of Locorotondo, Vittorio Scatigna, built Villa Aurelia, after buying a land on which -previously- there were some Trulli, that were been destroyed by a cyclone which hit on Locorotondo the 12th of September 1937 (this year will be remembered in town as “the year of the big cyclone”).
The tailor decided that, following this natural disaster,
he would have built a Villa, instead of trulli, to allow him and his niece, Filomena Angelini, to live there, together with her family: her husband, Vito Pace and their three sons, Giovanni, Lucia and Pernina. After all, three sons are married and in the villa remains Filomena alone, who, until the age of 90, takes lovely care of the house. At Filomena’s death, on December 23th 2000, the villa was acquired by her elder son, Giovanni and then by his daughter Aurelia, who is still the only owner and continues to take care of it with love.
The Villa
Villa Aurelia is a Historical estate, dated back to 1939, recently restored.
Located in the centre of Locorotondo, recognized as One of the most beautiful villages in Italy, in the heart of “Valle d’Itria” .
The Villa is surrounded by a wonderful ancient garden and consists of two Deluxe Rooms with bathroom, one Suite room with Jacuzzi in it and a bathroom with shower, one family Suite room with 2 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom with shower and a private little terrace.
Four charming constructions, finely furnished, comfortable and equipped with all sorts of facilities: king-size beds, air-conditioning, Tv, wi-fi, walk-in wardrobe, minibar in each room.
All the accommodations include a reserved parking lot, an equipped garden, an ample living room and in case of necessity a kitchen for common use. Breakfast with typical products will be served each morning in the garden. The Villa has been furnished with great care and every piece of furniture has been chosen curately. Everything was planned in detail, but in the meantime with simplicity , to guarantee our guests a relaxing, unforgettable stay.
